Hi All,
Happy FRIDAY! I hope all is well. Today, I compiled some of my favorite maxi dresses for the summer. I love a good maxi dress! You don't have to worry about putting together an outfit, the dress does it for you. Maxi dresses are so comfortable. You can wear a maxi dress to a formal wedding or as a cover up to the beach (depending on the dress) so most of them are so versatile.
All of the dresses selected are very affordable starting as low as $49! They are linked below for your convenience.
I adore the color of the first maxi dress with the faint floral print and the slit on the side. Each outfit has been accessorized with some reoccurring items. I try to style some of the outfits with the same accessories 1) because I love those products and 2) think they are versatile (which is why I feature them) and if you had purchased those items I want to give you as many ideas as possible with what kind of outfit combination they can be styled. The details of this look all complement each other. The dress has flowers which has circular patter that is also echoed in the design of the clutch and earrings.
Next up is a must-have white dress. I love the flutter sleeves on it and the back it beautiful. The necklace is often featured on the blog and is one of my personal favorites. It's very versatile and can be styled in 7 different ways. In this case, it complements the neckline of the dress if you choose to wear it as shown, OR you can flip it around and wear it as a chocker in the front with the rest of the necklace draping over the open back. I think it would be cute to wear a loose pony tail with this dress and tie the scarves into it as a way to have a pop of color in this look.
This dress is so versatile in my opinion. You can dress it up or down. In this image I dressed it down with the denim jacket, but you can easily end up wearing this dress to a summer wedding with a cute pair of strappy heels.
I love this dress. The pattern, the tiers, the halter top, the tie around the waist...Just everything out it! In a case of the halter dress, since there is a lot going on already around the neckline and the waist, I would focus on finding a good pair of earrings rather than adding a necklace to the outfit.
Another versatile option! This white dress can be easily dressed up or worn as a cover up to the beach. I love the button detail in the front <3
Last but definitely not least is this off-the-shoulder dress. I chose to style it with black accessories to give this look a pop of color. Due to the pattern of the dress and statement shoes, I think simple hoops are enough to complete this look :)
Ways to dress up a maxi dress:
Wear heels with the dress.
Add complementing jewelry (bracelet, necklace, and earrings).
Style you hair.
Add a statement belt - perfect solution to elevate a simple maxi dress is to add a belt.
Add a statement clutch to the look.
Ways to dress down a maxi dress:
Wear flat sandals or fashion sneakers with the dress.
Pair it with a jean jacket.
Tie a knot at the bottom of the dress - this won't work with every maxi dress but if it's a tube silhouette then you can bunch up the fabric and tie a knot either on the left of right side.
Put a loose solid color t-shirt - this won't work with every dress either, but if you have a tight fitting dress made out of stretchy material that hugs your body, you can throw a t-shirt over it and tie a knot on the edge of the tee to style it almost like a maxi skirt.
Tie a cardigan over your shoulders or waist.
Hope you enjoyed this post and have a wonderful weekend!!!
