sharing a thought

Hi All,

A couple of days ago, I shared a quote on my Instagram story that really resonated with me and I thought "hmm maybe someone else needs to hear this". This was the quote:

"One day you will tell that story about how you overcame that battle you went through, and God will send you the exact people who need to hear that story."

(not sure who the author is but saw it on @hertrueworth account)

I didn't realize the amount of responses that simple re-post would receive... I don't think I have ever received this many responses to a story post...

It seems like a lot of people needed to hear that reminder. We are all fighting our own "battles" on the daily basis. When you are going through a difficult time, remember you are not alone whatever it may be.

This is a reminder that I need to hear on the daily basis, so as I am writing all of this out as a note to self but also thought I would share it in case you need to hear it as well.

Whatever tribulation you are currently facing, even if it seems like it's not getting any better, YOU GOT THIS! God wouldn't put something in your life that you wouldn't be able to handle. And when you come out at the end of this difficult time you will be stronger. Something that I am learning as I am facing my current battle (might share details about this in a different blog post) is that it's okay to ask for help. I am a pretty independent person and often want to do things myself. I don't want to bother others with my problems. But we are not always supposed to do everything ourselves. God wants us to serve each other and if we don't let others help us then we are taking away an opportunity to serve from someone else. Also if you were to flip the situation around, and knew that a family member, friend, colleague, or an acquaintance was facing the same problem you are currently going through, wouldn't you want to help? Wouldn't you want that person to share with you what they are going through and ask for your help?

The second part of the quote talks about how you will help someone else later by sharing your story or encouragement when they go through a similar battle. This is so encouraging to me. This is giving me strength to keep my head up and go through this knowing that at the end of it I could help someone else.

Here are some scriptures that have been especially helpful...

Psalm 56:3-4 : "When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?"

Deuteronomy 31:6 : "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Hebrews 13:5-6: "For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.' So we may boldly say: 'The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'"

Isaiah 41:10-13: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ‘All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.'"

Anyways, thank you for reading my rambling thoughts. Hope at least some of this makes sense <3
